Position Overview
The Health & Safety Auditor isresponsible for evaluating organizational compliance with health,safety, and environmental regulations. This role conducts systematicaudits, identifies risks, recommends corrective actions, and supportsthe continuous improvement of safety programs to ensure a safeworkplace.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive health and safety audits across departments and job sites according to established schedules.
Review workplace practices, equipment, and documentation to ensure compliance with OSHA, local regulations, and company policies.
Identify hazards, unsafe practices, and gaps in safety management systems.
Prepare detailed audit reports summarizing findings, observations, and recommendations.
Collaborate with management and safety teams to develop corrective action plans.
Follow up on corrective actions and track closure to ensure effectiveness.
Support training sessions on safety standards and audit findings to enhance employee awareness.
Maintain audit records and ensure confidentiality and accuracy of documentation.
Stay updated on changes in legislation, standards, and best practices related to occupational health and safety.
Assist in incident investigations by providing audit expertise and reviewing compliance issues.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
Professional certifications such as NEBOSH, OSHA, IOSH, or equivalent.
Minimum 3 years of experience in health & safety auditing or compliance roles.
Strong knowledge of applicable health and safety laws, standards, and regulations.
Excellent analytical, observation, and reporting skills.
Proficiency with audit software and MS Office Suite.
Ability to communicate effectively with all organizational levels.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Willingness to travel to various sites as required.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience auditing in manufacturing, construction, healthcare, or industrial settings.
Familiarity with ISO 45001 or other safety management system standards.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to drive continuous improvement.
Training or certification in risk assessment and incident investigation.
Working Conditions
On-site audits requiring travel and exposure to industrial environments.
Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) mandatory during site visits.
Interaction with various departments, including management and frontline employees.
