Purpose of the role:


The purpose of this role is to safely and efficiently handle, store, and transport chemicals within the Borehole (BH) operations or designated project area. The role involves strict adherence to safety data sheets (SDS), environmental regulations, and company protocols to prevent incidents and ensure operational continuity.


The role includes but is not limited to:


  • Receiving, verifying, and storing chemicals according to SDS and safety guidelines.

  • Preparing and mixing chemical solutions as per specific operational requirements.

  • Transporting chemicals to designated locations using appropriate equipment and safety measures.

  • Conducting routine checks of chemical storage areas and equipment.

  • Maintaining accurate inventory records of chemicals and reporting discrepancies.

  • Handling chemical spills and emergencies in accordance with established procedures.

  • Ensuring proper labeling and segregation of all chemicals.

  • Wearing and maintaining appropriate PPE at all times.

  • Assisting with waste disposal of chemical containers and residues as per regulations.

Qualification / Experience


Education


  • High School Diploma or equivalent. Certification in chemical handling (e.g., COSHH, HAZWOPER) is highly preferred.


Experience


  • 0-1 year of experience in handling chemicals in an industrial or operational setting.


Knowledge & Key Skills


  • Knowledge of chemical properties, hazards, and safety data sheets (SDS).

  • Understanding of safe chemical storage, handling, and transportation practices.

  • Familiarity with PPE requirements for chemical handling.

  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and procedures accurately.

  • Basic literacy and numeracy for record-keeping.

  • Alertness and attention to detail to prevent accidents.
